Fundamentals of Physical Sciences
The Fundamentals of Physical Sciences (FPS) Program, is a four-week program designed to prepare students for college-level work while they are still in high school.
Admission requirements at the top universities seek students who have taken challenging science, mathematics and computer courses.
The Fundamentals of Physical Sciences Program is divided into two main Academic Thematic groups :
Students completing 9th, 10th and 11th grades who have not yet taken high school Chemistry.
Students completing 9th, 10th and 11th grades who have not yet taken high school Physics.
Students will also receive instruction in higher-level problem-solving strategies, computer applications, advanced mathematics and communications through classroom discussions, lectures, laboratory experiments, demonstrations, and projects.
Academic courses will incorporate modules on standardized test preparation for the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) exam and Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT).
