Appointment of Vice President for Advancement

I'm pleased to announce that Chuck Dees will join NJIT March 17 as vice president for advancement. He will lead the advancement program that includes the offices of development, communications, alumni relations and special events.

Chuck has a very strong background in fund raising and administration and experience in managing multiple constituencies with highly developed political and diplomatic skills. He has a long and successful history of working with alumni relations and understands communications and marketing well.

His track record includes most recently increasing gift income by 24 percent over a six-month period while he was vice president for development and public relations for the Jackie Robinson Foundation. A few years earlier in a similar capacity at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Chuck increased gift income over three years from 36 to 60 percent of total reported revenue. At Seton Hall University from 1982-1993, Chuck raised the university's annual fund revenues from $600,000 to $3 million.

Chuck has a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Pittsburgh, a master's degree from Duquesne University and a bachelor's degree from LaSalle University. Please join me in welcoming Chuck to NJIT.
