Holly Stern Appointed General Counsel

I'm pleased to announce the appointment of Holly Stern as general counsel. Holly, who had been serving as interim general counsel, comes to the position with a strong background in legal affairs, especially labor management relations and negotiations.

Holly began her career more than a decade ago in NJIT’s office of the general counsel and subsequently rose to positions of increasing responsibility. Prior to her serving as interim general counsel, her most recent position was assistant vice president for legal and employment affairs. Before joining NJIT, she was first assistant attorney for Wayne Township. Earlier, Stern served a judicial clerkship.

Holly received her bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and a dual J.D. and master’s of public administration from the University of California Law Center, Los Angeles. She lives in Montville with her children Julianne, 17, and David, 14. From 1993 to 1996, Stern was a member of the Montville Township Board of Education and was vice president of the board from 1995 to1996. Holly has recently been an invited speaker at conferences sponsored by the College and University Personnel Association.

We are looking forward to working with Holly in her role as general counsel with administrative and leadership responsibility for all of NJIT’s legal affairs.
