Lisa Pierce's Passing

The University community at New Jersey Institute of Technology is profoundly saddened by the passing of Lisa Pierce, our beloved assistant director of campus activities, who lost her life today, March 9, 2004, following injuries sustained at the tragic Baltimore Inner Harbor accident on Saturday, March 6, 2004. During her seven years at NJIT, Lisa Pierce, only 34 years old, had worked in both residence life and student activities here at NJIT and was extremely well liked. In addition to a campus center memorial gathering tomorrow, later this spring NJIT will hold an on-campus celebration of Lisa's life, at which time we will dedicate the Campus Center Leadership Library in her memory. We extend our deepest sympathy to her family and friends at their and our terrible loss.
