I want to take this opportunity to draw your attention to the onset of Black History Month. Our diversity is among our greatest strengths at NJIT, so I encourage us all to take advantage of occasions such as this to expand our knowledge of and appreciation for a broad array of cultures and histories. There are several events planned throughout February, including the following, among others:
- Black History Month Opening Ceremony - February 1 at 11:30 am in the Campus Center Atrium
- Highlighting Black Heroes Poster Display in the Campus from February 3-9
- Celebrating Caribbean Heroes on February 7 at 6 pm (location to be determined)
- Highlighting African Heroes Poster Display in the Campus from February 10-16
- Divine 9 Panel with Rutgers Newark on February 12 at 6 pm in the Campus Center Ballroom
- Movie Night and Discussion: “Sorry to Bother You” - February 13 at 7 pm in Campus Center Ballroom B
- Diversity Dialogue Series - NSBE Honest: Are We Really Black? - February 14 at 6 pm in Campus Center 240
- Diversity Dialogue Series: Existing While Black: Being Black in America - February 15 at 11:30 am in the Campus Center 4th Floor Lounge
- Highlighting Black Engineers Poster Display in the Campus from February 17-23
- Highlighting Black Female Heroines Poster Display in the Campus from February 24-28
- Black History Month Closing Ceremony - March 1 at 11:30 am in the Campus Center Atrium
