NJIT HAS ZERO TOLERANCE REGARDING
SEXUAL MISCONDUCT AND SEXUAL HARASSMENT
What You Need to Know Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities operated by an institution receiving federal financial assistance. |
Response, Consent and Bystander Prevention Sexual harassment is unlikely to stop until confronted. In some cases, this may mean informing the person directly that his or her actions are offensive and unwelcome. Other situations may require a formal reprimand or a disciplinary hearing. |
If You Are a Victim of Sexual Violence If you are in immediate danger, contact NJIT Department of Public Safety at 911 or your local police. Go to a safe place and seek immediate support from a trusted friend, family member or university staff member. |
