Pre-Arrival Information

International Students Pre-Arrival Information

January 9th - 12th, 2017

Welcome to NJIT! We are excited to welcome you to our campus and look forward to seeing you soon. These are the next steps you will need to complete in order to secure your spot and have an easy transition:

Step 1: Pay Your USD $250 Tuition Deposit (F-1 students only)

You must pay your USD $250 tuition deposit to confirm your spot at NJIT. You can deposit online at  Your deposit also serves as your registration for the International Student Orientation.

Step 2: Medical clearance (F-1 and J-1 students)

You must submit two medical forms directly to the Health Services Office by December 1st,2016: Immunization Form and Physical Exam Form. Click here to download the forms.

New Jersey State law mandates that Health and Immunization forms be submitted before you can register for classes. If you have any questions, please contact Health Services at +1 (973) 596-3621, or send fax to +1 (973) 596-0047.  You are advised to have the required forms completed by your physician before you depart your home country, since the cost of a physical exam in the U.S. and immunizations are very expensive.

Step 3: Submit your final transcripts

NJIT’s offer of admission is contingent upon satisfactory completion of any academic work in progress before you start your program here. It is your responsibility to ensure that your final official transcripts are forwarded to the Office of Admission by January 1 or as soon as your courses are completed. Transfer students are required to submit a course-by-course WES evaluation for all academic work completed outside the U.S. Without the transcript evaluation students will not be allowed to register for classes.

Step 4: Airport pick-up request (F-1 and J-1 students)

NJIT offers airport pick-up during specific days and times for all international students who will be starting this fall.

Airport pick-ups for NEW NJIT international students will be offered on January 5th and 6th (details to be announced). The shuttles will leave the airport promptly at this time, and are not able to wait for students past the scheduled pick up time. Please plan accordingly when reserving your pick up, to account for the time needed for customs/immigration and baggage claim.

The deadline for airport pick ups for Spring 2017 has passed.

If you have any questions please contact us directly at We will be glad to help!
